Dawn Witherington - Illustration

Dawn Witherington depicts marine wildlife and scenery from deep experiences. Her work as a graphic design artist and scientific illustrator has allowed her unique access to sea animals through the scientists who intimately know their subjects. Dawn’s specialty is photorealistic art that captures the elusive essence of the sea’s most enigmatic creatures. “I’ve spent thousands of hours in the company of sea turtles, and each moment more I see something new.”
Part of this investment benefitted art in two books on sea turtles, one of which Dawn coauthored with her husband, Blair. Other design and illustration projects have included five additional books on beaches and seashells, a series of more than 30 natural history posters, and several museum exhibits.
